Official release: Housing Design Catalogue
Accessory Dwelling unit 01 design by KANVA
We are very excited to share that the federal government has released the complete Housing Design Catalogue. Developed by Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) and Housing, Infrastructure and Communities Canada, this project is an initiative aimed at widening access to affordable housing.
Selected as the Quebec regional team for this project, KANVA has developed a series of housing units inspired by local culture, materials, forms, and construction methods to join harmoniously with our urban fabrics.
The catalogue features 50 standardized housing designs, from rowhouses, fourplexes, sixplexes and accessory dwelling units.
This project is in collaboration with LGA Architectural Partners, responsible for national coordination and regional team for Ontario, as well as Dub Architects (Alberta,) 5468796 Architecture (Manitoba and Saskatchewan,) Abbott Brown Architects (the Maritimes and Newfoundland and Labrador,) Taylor Architecture Group (Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut) and MGA (British Columbia.)
