Born in Montréal in 2013 as part of the 4th edition of Luminothérapie, Between the Rows has since followed a remarkable international journey. Inspired by the wheat fields that shaped Québec’s landscape, the installation has been presented at light festivals, public spaces, and cultural events across Canada, the United States, France, and the United Kingdom. From one context to another, the work adapts to the unique characteristics of each site, temporarily transforming urban environments into a field animated by wind, light, and the presence of visitors.
“These projects allow us to broaden our horizons and think more freely. They also give us the opportunity to experiment. For Between the Rows, we worked extensively on light with Udo Design.”
— Rami Bebawi
More than ten years after its creation, Between the Rows continues to occupy new territories. From public squares to major international light festivals, the work pursues an ongoing reflection on landscape memory, the transformation of collective spaces, and the sensory experience of the city.
