L’intention de l’intervention s’articule autour de trois notions fondamentales ; reconstruire, rassembler et mettre de l’avant la richesse de la vie citoyenne de la ville de Mégantic.

Suivant le cours de la légère dénivellation naturelle vers le parc, le site traverse le nouveau centre-ville de Mégantic et se termine aux abords des arbres centenaires du parc des Vétérans, découvrant ainsi un point de vue imprenable sur le lac et les chaînes de montagnes avoisinantes. 
La linéarité du site offre donc la possibilité d’offrir une vue cadrant la nature du parc ainsi que le Lac Mégantic en aval. Traversée offre un dialogue entre les diverses composantes du paysage du Lac Mégantic. Unissant le centre-ville et les abords du lac, la forme organique agit telle un débordement de nature au coeur du contexte urbain. De nature biomorphique, le geste architectural s’inspire des différents motifs et reliefs des topographies naturelles. 

Ainsi, la topographie artificielle composée de divers fragments, compose un assemblage de nombreux paysages unifiés en un seul geste évoluant au fil du parcours de l’usager. Les différentes zones topographiques, inspirées de différents extraits du paysage méganticois contribuent par leur modulation au dynamisme du centre-ville.

The intention of the intervention is based on three fundamental concepts: rebuilding, gathering and promoting the richness of the citizen life of the city of Mégantic.

Following the slight natural slope towards the park, the site traverses the new downtown area of Mégantic and ends at the edge of the century-old trees of Veterans Park, thus discovering a breathtaking view of the lake and the surrounding mountain ranges. The linearity of the site offers the possibility of offering a view that frames both the nature of the park and Mégantic Lake downstream. Traversée offers a dialogue between the various components of the Lac Mégantic landscape. Uniting the city centre and the lakefront, the organic form acts as an overflow of nature in the heart of the urban context. Of a biomorphic nature, the architectural gesture is inspired by the different motifs and reliefs of natural topographies.

Thus, the artificial topography composed of various fragments, composes an assemblage of many unified landscapes in a single gesture evolving along the user's path. The different topographical areas, inspired by different extracts from the Megantic landscape, contribute, through their modulation, to the dynamism of the city centre.
