Ce projet résidentiel ‘multi-logements’ est un exemple probant du rôle que peuvent jouer les stratégies architecturales dans le renforcement des liens entre le construit, les usagers et le contexte. Témoin du patrimoine bâti de la ville, Fabbrica s’inscrit dans la mémoire collective en proposant un vocabulaire moderne ouvert sur le monde extérieur. 

L’approche écologique novatrice préconisée tout au long du projet a guidé la restauration de l’enveloppe extérieure, la réutilisation des matériaux existants et l’agrandissement du bâtiment sans modification de son empreinte au sol.

This residential multi-housing project is an effective example of how architectural strategies can reinforce the links between building, user and context. By acknowledging the city’s built heritage, Fabbrica asserts its place in the collective memory, while its modern vocabulary poses a gesture of openness to the outside.

Informing the project from start to finish was a green, innovative outlook that included restoring the outer shell, making use of existing materials and expanding the building without extending its footprint to create sensitively designed dwelling units for its new occupants.
