Situé dans l’arrondissement de Rosemont-la-Petite-Patrie, le projet 19 Portes propose 19 unités résidentielles ainsi que deux espaces commerciaux. Le projet propose l’utilisation de matériaux recyclés, récupérés sur des sites montréalais, afin de communiquer une appartenance à l’histoire et à l’identité du quartier.

Cet aspect identitaire est révélé dans le traitement des loggias, soustraites au bloc monolithique des résidences, afin d’offrir au passant l’impression d’une vue à l’intérieur des foyers du quartier.

Quant au bloc commercial, il est situé au rez-de-chaussée donnant sur la rue Bélanger, et revêt une matérialité de métal foncé et lisse ainsi qu’une fenestration plus généreuse, afin de marquer le contraste avec le bloc résidentiel et d’en souligner sa fonction distincte.

Located in the Montreal borough of Rosemont-La-Petite-Patrie, 19 Portes offers 19 residential units as well as two commercial spaces, while relying on repurposed materials, mainly wooden doors, salvaged from various sites in Montreal, to convey a sense of history, belonging and identity within the neighborhood.

This marker of identity is revealed through the treatment of the loggias, carved into the monolithic brick block, as if to offer passersby a glimpse into private homes of the neighborhood.

The commercial component of the project, located on the ground level and facing Bélanger street, is clad in smooth dark metal and more generously glazed, contrasting with the residential block and underlining its distinct function.
