Place Hogan

Situé dans un secteur industriel de l’est de Montréal, cet ajout à un entrepôt existant est le siège social d’une entreprise locale d’aménagement paysager spécialisée dans les projets résidentiels et commerciaux. 

S’inspirant du domaine d’expertise du client avec l'intention consciente de contraster les environs industrialisés, KANVA a extrapolé la notion de plante en pot pour créer trois éléments architecturaux distincts : le contenant ancré au sol, la fleur fragile et le bulbe conceptuel. Un jeu de transparence / opacité crée un effet de luminosité qui rappelle une serre.

Situated in Montreal’s industrial east end, this addition to an existing warehouse is the headquarters (workshop and office) of a local, mid-sized landscaping firm specialized in residential and commercial projects.

Taking design inspiration from the client’s profession and consciously intending to contrast the surrounding industrialized context, the design team extrapolated the notion of the potted plant to produce three distinct organic building elements: the grounded Container, the fragile Flower and the notional Bulb. The interplay of transparency and opacity creates an airy space reminiscent of a greenhouse.
